Jackie Kell - Christchurch
Mental Health Counsellor
Kia ora! I’m Jackie.
With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I have been supporting clients since 2013. I work with adults and adolescents, offering therapy both virtually and in person to create accessible and flexible care.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, and life transitions. Much of my work focuses on helping clients process traumatic and stressful life experiences and navigate the symptoms that can follow, including anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and emotional overwhelm.
My approach to therapy is holistic and client-centered. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness practices, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals.
My communication style is curious, open, and compassionate. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they work toward meaningful change.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and am deeply committed to helping individuals recognize their potential and navigate life’s challenges with support and resilience.
