Kia ora! I’m Marie.
I'm a mental health counsellor with 10 years' experience working alongside survivors of psychological abuse and trauma. I'm a strong advocate within the LGBTQIA+ community, and my work centres on complex trauma, psychological abuse recovery, and mood and borderline personality disorders. I primarily support LGBTQ+ individuals, female-identifying clients, and those assigned female at birth, including transgender, non-binary, and gender-neutral people.
I create a nurturing, safe therapeutic space where you can reclaim your narrative and move towards self-actualization. I'm inquisitive, direct, and quick-witted, I believe healing doesn't have to be heavy all the time, so I bring joy and playfulness into our work together. Alongside this, I draw on evidence-based approaches like EMDR and DBT, as well as experiential practices such as Schema Therapy.
My purpose is to help you challenge distorted beliefs, build self-acceptance, and grow your confidence and agency, so you can align with your most authentic self and find greater contentment and ownership over the life you want.
