Ryan Sullivan - Queenstown
Mental Health Counsellor
Kia ora! I'm Ryan Sullivan, a counsellor based in Queenstown, working with adults from all walks of life since 2013.
I support people navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the lasting impacts of trauma. As one of the male counsellors available in Queenstown, I know some people feel more comfortable opening up to a male therapist — and I bring the same compassion, curiosity, and genuine connection to every session, regardless of who I'm working with.
I believe meaningful change happens when we feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative space where you can explore life's challenges with honesty and self-compassion.
MY APPROACH
My counselling style is relational and mindfulness-based, and draws on the restorative power of the natural world. I hold a Master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, with a concentration in Wilderness Therapy, from Naropa University. I integrate evidence-informed approaches tailored to your unique needs and goals — because reconnecting with ourselves, our relationships, and the natural environment can build resilience, perspective, and lasting wellbeing.
Together, we'll explore your experiences, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and clarity. My aim is to support you in creating meaningful change, so you can move towards a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.
