What the training covers

MHFA is designed to help everyday people and workplace leaders provide initial support until appropriate professional help is received or the situation resolves.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Recognise signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges (e.g., depression, anxiety, psychosis, problematic substance use)

  • Respond if someone is experiencing a mental health crisis (including suicidal thoughts and behaviours, panic attacks, traumatic events, severe effects from substance use)

  • Use a clear, practical action plan (often referred to as the ALGEE action plan in MHFA)

  • Have confident, supportive conversations and connect people with the right supports

Who it’s great for: team leaders, HR, people managers, educators, coaches, community volunteers, and anyone who wants to respond better when someone is struggling.
