Mental Health Coaching
Practical, proactive support to help you thrive
Not every challenge needs therapy. Sometimes, you just need someone in your corner—someone who can help you set goals, overcome obstacles, and stay accountable. That’s where mental health coaching comes in.
At The Therapy Project, our coaching sessions offer a future-focused, strengths-based approach to support your mental and emotional wellbeing. Whether you're navigating stress, working toward personal growth, or trying to improve everyday habits, coaching can help you build momentum and stay on track.
What is Mental Health Coaching?
Mental health coaching is a supportive partnership that focuses on where you are now and where you want to be. Unlike therapy, which often explores the past or deeper emotional patterns, coaching is action-oriented and helps you make real-time changes in your life.
It’s ideal for people who:
Want practical strategies to manage stress, routines, or mindset
Are working on motivation, goal setting, or confidence
Need accountability to stay focused and follow through
Are looking for a more structured, future-focused approach
May not meet the threshold for a mental health diagnosis but still want support
Are waiting for therapy but want to start making progress now

Coaching vs. Counselling: What's the Difference?
While both coaching and counselling offer valuable support, they serve different purposes. Coaching is future-focused and goal-oriented, it’s about building motivation, creating structure, and taking practical steps forward. It’s ideal for people who want to improve habits, manage stress, or gain clarity in their personal or professional lives. Counselling, on the other hand, is typically more reflective and therapeutic. It involves exploring deeper emotional patterns, healing past experiences, and managing mental health concerns such as anxiety, trauma, or grief. At The Therapy Project, our coaching service is delivered by a trained, non-clinical practitioner working within a clearly defined scope. If we believe your needs are better suited to clinical care, we’ll support you in accessing one of our registered therapists.
Ready to Get Started?
Mental health coaching can be a great first step or a helpful companion to other supports. If you’re ready to take action toward a better you, Patrick is here to help.
